Recap: Mount Vernon City Fest 2024

Community members, leaders, family, and friends came together in Mount Vernon on September 14, 2024, for a vibrant day filled with laughter and delicious food at the annual City Fest. Held at Hartley Park, the event offered fun for all ages. Kids delighted in games and activities, relishing free popcorn and cotton candy, while adults enjoyed card games and grooved to great music.

As day turned to night, the excitement crescendoed with the main concert. The crowd gathered eagerly around the stage, buzzing with anticipation for the headlining acts: Cash Cobain, Bay Swag, and Capella Grey. The atmosphere was electric, setting the stage for an unforgettable night of music and community spirit.

Jae’Won, well known as the son of Yonkers-native rapper Jadakiss, graced the stage with Capella Grey to perform their hit-song Fly Shit. 

He shared that he always had a desire to rap but finally decided to pursue his dreams.

Rapper Cash Cobain thrives on connecting with his fans by engaging with them in the crowd. He says, “I always gotta get in the crowd and feel the people… I love showing love to my fans.”

The 26-year-old producer-turned-rapper also shares his love for sampling and explains why it’s such a key part of his music.
