Cheers to fashion, culture, and wine! Fine Wine Series returned to Citi Field on September 6, 2025, transforming a rainy afternoon into a celebration of luxe vibes and community. What started in 2015 as a casual gathering of college friends to sip and connect has blossomed into a powerful cultural movement.

Despite the weather, the crowd showed up in style. “Listen, man, I’m here to enjoy all the Black excellence, get me some good wine to go home with…and enjoy the vibes,” said Quanito from Brooklyn, summing up the spirit of the day.

Doors opened at 2:30 p.m., and the stadium filled quickly. Guests enjoyed a three-hour unlimited tasting featuring standout minority- and women-owned brands, all set to a soundtrack of Hip-Hop, R&B, and throwback jams.

Vendors like Bed-Vyne Wine & Spirits of Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, drew steady lines and smiling customers. Their Italian-made Lambrusco Cabernet was a fan favorite. As someone who usually leans toward white wine, I have to admit—it was good.

On stage, Grammy Award–winning songwriter and producer Jermaine Dupri headlined with an electrifying set that had the crowd on their feet. When asked about his wine of choice, he said: “My bottle of choice would be Screaming Eagle.” And if given the chance to share it with anyone, past or present, he’d pour a glass with his mentor, Quincy Jones.

Other musical performances kept the vibes alive, including More Soup Please, DJ Hol Up, DJ Miss Milan, and BeenBlackin.

Style was on full display throughout the festival. In a cream one-shoulder dress with floral accents, Amari Zhane explained why she came out: “I’ve seen it on Instagram for years, and I just love the Black excellence. Everyone is dressed so beautifully, and I love how each person brings their own unique style to the theme.”

From chic to dapper, The Fine Wine Series festival proved once again that it’s where the grown and sexy gather.

“I want to be fine wine. I want to be a bottle of Blackberry XXL,” joked Candace Renee, who stunned in a burgundy backless jumpsuit from Akira with gold accessories.

And for many, it’s becoming tradition. Kayla C. of New Jersey shared: “We loved it last year, so we’re back again. Girls’ day out!”

When it comes to sipping wine, I asked several attendees if it’s more so about the company they keep while drinking or the taste. “The company just enhances everything,” said JK, visiting from the United Kingdom. Cultural leader and host Jiggy Jones feels like “It’s always about the company.”

From the pours to the performances, Fine Wine Series continues to prove it’s more than a festival. It’s a movement. To keep sipping in style, check out upcoming events at finewineseries.com
