Proverbs 3:5-6 – Know Yourself

I attended Church in June 2018 and witnessed a sermon so powerful, it drew me want to take notes. When I attend service, I never take notes. Partially because nothing sticks enough to want to, or because I’m lazy. But, THIS sermon… when I tell you, babyyyyy, I started typing quicker than Speed Racer. What I’m about to share are my notes on a sermon by a young good looking preacher, (chile, he was fine as .. you know what, let me focus) that changed my perspective. Due to the personal situations, I’m currently experiencing, it led me to finally write about it.

thank you jesus

‘One who is in transition (meaning, moving onto their next journey in life) may often contemplate, can I do this? WHAT will happen next? WHO will I be? WHO am I?

So this quote is what caught my attention. Earlier that week, I’d been feeling uneasy and made it my mission to attend church on Sunday. And, I’m glad I did because the preacher was speaking directly to me. I almost felt uncomfortable because everything he’d been saying was spot on. I was like Ok, woah… slow down, LOL. Nonetheless, I began note taking.

He preached about – ‘Moses experiencing a transition from process to destiny. Everyone can’t hear the call when destiny calls. He calls YOU from a place of separation. Only those who have ears to hear, can hear what the spirit of the Lord is saying.’

Okay, so boom. Not sure who can relate, but I’m 100% a believer, claim Christianity, but by no means am I a strict, hardcore Christian. I’m human. I make mistakes and ask for forgiveness. I for sure talk to God, and firmly believe anyone who surrounds me should do so OR be comfortable with my speaking of Him, as well. After all, You are the company you keep.

‘Everytime you get use to the way things are, you’ll find yourself shifting again. You’ll defeat one enemy just to find ten more…’

But HOW can this be, you might ask? Why are all of these enemies following you in your processing? Well, according to Mr. Young Tenderoni a.k.a the Preacher when you’re being processed by God, He wants you to see if you are doing it for man, or for Him. Basically, it’s a test sis. Do you care how society views you, (which is a large majority of the world, including me) OR are you more careful of pleasing God? Think about it, let it marinate, ponder, allat. You have to ask yourself: Are you embarrassed by your destiny? Are you embarrassed by your calling?

Now when you realize your destiny and calling, whether it be now or 25 years down the road… it’s time to deal with your destiny killers. Destiny Killers are anything known to block you or get in the way of manifestation. I’m going to list 6 known destiny killers preached in the sermon, to look out for.

1.INSECURITY: to be insecure means to lack confidence, and feel uncertainty or anxiety about oneself. One can be insecure because they’re unsure of themselves, unsure of what’s next. FEAR. No one wants to repeat steps they’ve already “mastered” but sometimes, it’s necessary to be a student once more.

2. FEAR OF FAILURE: to fail means to be unsuccessful in obtaining one’s goal. God says you can’t bring your failures into this holy moment, FORGET everything you failed at. FACE YOUR FAILURE. God does not care what it may be because he’s already cleaned it up. You are anointed.

THIS IS NOT THE SEASON TO NURSE YOUR FAILURES. STOP GOING BACK AND LOOK AHEAD. GET RID OF THEM!

For instance, I’m sure many can relate to this: If not, I know I can.  I’ve failed at work before, and I’ve been so ready to quit and find another job. But God says, ‘I’m tired of you running out, accept what you’ve failed at and MOVE ON!’ Move on meaning, DO NOT DWELL. There is no failure in Christ. LET GO OF EVERYTHING YOU FAILED AT because IT IS TIME TO MOVE ON.

3. WORRYING: Many people are so worried about who’s taking their seat when in actuality, they should be realizing they’re the replacement. FOCUS. Don’t look at who your replacement is (who succeeded your job AFTER you’ve been let go), look at who He is removing, for you to replace. BE PATIENT. You don’t want to be stuck in places too long because you’re scared of transitioning. Let your replacement take their seat! You did not get fired, you got PROMOTED… to greatness. God says WELL DONE. You aren’t supposed to stay in one spot your entire life.

5. QUIT BEGGING: Stop pleading for the wrong people to be present in your journey, just because they’re good looking (on the outside). Let Him guide you. In this season, you have to GET OVER BEING LONELY. Watch who you bring around you… some people are energy drainers.

6. AWARENESS: You know what God is saying, but you’re scared, huh? Because transition means you’re unsure of what’s on the other side. Just trust in Him. How can you be tired and/or uneasy when His power is on you? HOW SWAY, HOW!?
